Hello All,

Long-time stamper Darla Copmann shared some super simple ATCs with us. She stamped images from artist New Mexico artist Jo Rango onto heavy white cardstock and embellished the images with our Glitter Dots. Darla's favorite is the "Phrog" but we like all of them. Rango Zoo stamps are from Red Castle, Inc.

Designer Judi Kauffman continues to indulge her passion for Glitter Dots peel-offs! She sent us a variation of the project she did for CardMaker Magazine to share with you.

This time, instead of two circles of leaves there is only one. She outlined one of the card stock background rectangles with Pen-touch in Gold (Sakura). She added rows of Glitter Star Border peel-offs in Silver at the top and bottom (http://www.ecraftdesigns.com/products/glitter-stars-border). And instead of a layered die-cut flower she chose a large Elizabeth Craft Designs outline peel-off in Gold (http://www.ecraftdesigns.com/products/big-flowers), backed with Shimmer Sheetz in Light Green Iris (http://www.ecraftdesigns.com/products/green-iris-3-pack). A generous crusting of Glitter Dots (http://www.ecraftdesigns.com/products/glitter-dots-assorti) provides added sparkle. Faux Faberge Easter Eggs by Judi Kauffman

Let it Snow! by Judi Kauffman

Judi Kauffman decided to combine the scraps that were on her table, a color combination that she found "garishly intriguing"! And she said she wanted to include a snowflake, even though there wasn't an inch of blue, white or silver in sight...So here is Let It Snow - an orange snowflake (the die is from Our Daily Bread Designs) embellished with Purple Glitter Dots, more Dots as the tiny purple snowflakes falling in the background (Glitter Dots are Judi's current go-to embellishment) and yet more Glitter Dots to accent the lettering (stickers from Karen Foster Design).

Judi said she may turn to more traditional colors at some point (she's got Silver Glitter Dots ready and waiting), and next time she'll use patterned paper scraps instead of solid colors. We're looking forward to seeing it! Thanks, Judi.

Last Minute Holiday Cards (Tags and ATCs)

I thought it would be fun to take some of the tags I made for the December issue of Scrapbooking.com and one of the ATCs that I designed for the blog at Nature's Print Shop and use them for last-minute holiday cards.

Here's what I did:

(I used foam dots for attaching dimensional layers, Be Creative Tape to adhere flat layers)

Tag Card 1

To add a bit more texture to the tag I embossed the bottom section, below the gold border, using the same embossing folder that I chose for the background (Cuttlebug from Provo Craft, Holly Ribbons). Both layers went onto purchased blank deckle-edge card (Strathmore, Fluorescent White).

Tag Card 2

I jazzed up the border along the bottom of the tag, adding Pink/Silver Elizabeth Craft Designs Glitter Dots to every other circle. The Dots match the reindeer's nose. The tag is layered onto embossed cardstock and a deckle-edge card (same as Card 1).

Tag Card 3

This card combines the smallest of the tags with a stamped ATC (Nature's Print Shop) and some patterned paper leftover from a scrapbook project (K and Company). I added Gold/Silver Elizabeth Craft Designs Glitter Dots to some of the polka dots in the background and wrote NOEL on the tag with a White Gelly Roll pen (Sakura of America).

Tag Card 4

I placed a plain white folded card inside the Holly Ribbons folder, embossing both front and back of the card). The tag is centered on the front for a formal look. I added a flat piece of white cardstock to the interior so there is a smooth place to write.

Hello Everyone,

It’s almost Christmas. I think everybody is done making Christmas Cards so I thought it was time to show you something else that you can start working on during the Christmas Holidays. Does not everybody like coloring on a dark evening, nice cup of thee and Christmas Music in the background?

For the coloring on these cards I used the Copic Markers and did the blending technique. Just coloring would be beautiful as well but blending gives it something extra’s. I am, as a lot of people are, getting addicted to coloring with the Copic Markers. No need to say that the Peel Off’s work fabulous in combination with the Copic Markers.

The background of these cards is something that I was really excited about. Some of you will have a Glitter Magnet and I get a lot of questions what to do with the Glitter magnet when it does not pick up any glitter anymore. You can’t wash it so you had to throw it out. I had this plan for a long time but finally found some time to do this. It’s easy and looks stunning.

Take your glitter magnet and color it with alcohol ink. I use my dabber and colored my whole glitter magnet in different colors that kind of flow into each other. When it was dry I put the Be Creative double sided tape on the back and I can just pick and cut the piece I want to use.

Besides these two cards I also took a piece and wrapped it around a votive holder. My head is spinning with ideas and I am going to color some more used Glitter Magnets. It looks so nice that I am almost at the point to just sprinkle some glitter on my magnet and color it. Can’t wait till it is worn out, takes too long!

Glitter Dots

Hello everyone,

Our Guest Designer Judi Kauffman has fallen in love with Elizabeth Craft Designs Glitter Dots Peel-Offs. That makes two of us - I've been using them on so many projects. Here are the two cards she sent and the instructions for making the projects. Thanks again, Judi.

Els, you're right - I have fallen in love with Glitter Dots. What a bargain! Each sheet costs less than a latte and there must be over a thousand Peel-Offs on the sheet. Has anyone counted? There are 20 rows, the rows with the largest Dots have over 40, but I gave up and didn't try to count beyond that. It's the same sparkle as gems but at a fraction of the cost.

I thought it would be fun to make holiday cards in unexpected colors so I chose bright yellow/orange cardstock and muted burgundy, not the traditional combination.

From the yellow/orange I die-cut and embossed a 12" poinsettia border (Spellbinders Borderabilities) and a scalloped edge 4.5" square (Spellbinders Grand Nestabilities). I sponged Adirondack Earthtones Currant ink (Ranger) onto both to highlight the embossing and tone down the bright color.

For the square card, I used the same ink to stamp a tree, bird, and bicycle (Yellow Owl Rubber Stamps), a circle with text that says "Do Something Creative Every Day" (Paper Source), and the months of the year (Red Castle, Inc.), plus the date when the card was made (an office supply store date stamp with blue ink). I sponged on a bit more ink to create the ground on which the tree and bicycle stand.

Refer to the photo to see how the two finished cards came together. I added word and ribbon stickers to the poinsettia card (vintage Cloud 9 Design). And I bent the poinsettia petals upward for dimension.

And then, the finishing touch

Elizabeth Craft Designs GLITTER DOTS - Red/Gold for the square card; both Red/Gold and Black/Silver for the poinsettia card.
